What i do
Education
As a Graduate Scholar-In-Residence at a prestigious day-school in London, I taught math and statistics extension sessions.
As a U.S. Fulbright Scholar, I taught English language and conversation classes, hosted exam preparation sessions, provided vocational training, and gave personalized tutoring to students of Roma descent.

I'm a co-founder of True Inclusion LLC., a start-up DEI consulting firm with experience in the education sector.
Formerly known as the student-led True Inclusion initiative at the Rutgers University Honors College, our team created and implemented proposals for change through curriculum and admissions reform.

I just started working on a doctoral-level research project through the Malawi Longitudinal Study of Families and Health!

True Inclusion Spring Report
True Inclusion was a visceral response to the experiences of students at the Honors College. Our initiative was born from the hurt, frustration, and desperation that we—along with many other students—felt within our institutions of higher education during the time of the Black Lives Matter movement, one of the largest pushes for racial justice we’ve seen in our lifetimes. Over the past year, these emotions were funneled into hard work. We created committees, developed new curricula, negotiated with the administration, and started a meaningful conversation about inclusion at our institution. This summary report details the work of each True Inclusion member and provides updates on the implementation of recommendations set forth in our Fall 2020 Summary Report.
True Inclusion Fall Report
The release of our call-to-action, Anti-Blackness in the Honors College, was a desperate attempt to fix systemic inequities within our community at Rutgers. Since then, we have been working diligently alongside the administration to ensure our recommendations are implemented in the most constructive way possible. Along this journey, we have had the opportunity to expand our team and collaborate with change-making faculty and administration from every corner of Rutgers University. All of the administrators and faculty we have worked with have supported our vision and given us actionable advice on how to achieve it. As co-founders, we have also had the privilege of working with many generous and dedicated students that have given their time and energy to creating a more inclusive Honors College as True Inclusion members. The incredible work of these students is showcased in this report.
True Inclusion Call To Action
For an institution claiming a commitment to racial equity, how was it possible that Black student enrollment in the Honors College decreased 82% over first the five years since the institution's inauguration? While the trend expressed by this graph was troubling upon first sight, it became even more pressing when coupled with the experiences of exclusion and discrimination felt by Black students attending the Honors College. After collecting student testimonies and anayzing student experiences, we sought to further explore the structural and individual ways that anti-Blackness had been perpetuated at the Honors College. This is the original document from which the True Inclusion initiative at the Rutgers University Honors College was born.
Particle Trajectories for Compton Scattering in One Space Dimension
Using a relativistic extension of Bohmian Mechanics known as Multi-Time Wave Function formulation, we examine a two-body, one-dimensional system consisting of one photon and one electron that interact only upon contact. We investigate the effects that various parameters in this theory including momentum of the incoming photon and mass of the electron have on the dynamics of the two interacting bodies with the goal of understanding conservation of momentum and energy in the system. We show that the core principles of Compton scattering remain when we use this alternative formulation of quantum mechanics. Although a complete relativistic theory of Bohmian mechanics has yet to be developed, our work aims to make the ideas in this theory more accessible to a wider audience.
Rwandan women use family planning to provide a better life for their children
Use of modern contraception in Rwanda has risen dramatically over a short time period. To better understand contraceptive users’ motivations for family planning services in Rwanda, 32 in-depth interviews with contraceptive users and eight focus groups with 88 family planning providers were conducted in Rwanda’s Musanze and Nyamasheke districts. Study participants noted how family planning is critical for providing a better life for children. Family planning gives mothers independence from childcare to work in order to provide for their children’s wellbeing. Family planning presented an opportunity for generational upward mobility and was perceived as a way to contribute positively to society.
Analysis of copy number loss of the ErbB4 receptor tyrosine kinase in glioblastoma
Current treatments for glioblastoma multiforme (GBM) an aggressive form of brain cancer are minimally effective and yield a median survival of 14.6 months and a two-year survival rate of 30%. Given the severity of GBM and the limitations of its treatment, there is a need for the discovery of novel drug targets for GBM and more personalized treatment approaches based on the characteristics of an individual's tumor. Most receptor tyrosine kinases such as EGFR act as oncogenes, but publicly available data from the Cancer Cell Line Encyclopedia (CCLE) indicates copy number loss in the ERBB4 RTK gene across dozens of GBM cell lines, suggesting a potential tumor suppressor role. This loss is mutually exclusive with loss of its cognate ligand NRG1 in CCLE as well, more strongly suggesting a functional role. The availability of higher resolution copy number data from clinical GBM patients in The Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA) revealed that a region in Intron 1 of the ERBB4 gene was deleted in 69.1% of tumor samples harboring ERBB4 copy number loss; however, it was also found to be deleted in the matched normal tissue samples from these GBM patients (n = 81). Using the DECIPHER Genome Browser, we also discovered that this mutation occurs at approximately the same frequency in the general population as it does in the disease population. We conclude from these results that this loss in Intron 1 of the ERBB4 gene is neither a de novo driver mutation nor a predisposing factor to GBM, despite the indications from CCLE. A biological role of this significantly occurring genetic alteration is still unknown.
